Abstract (English) In the ecologically fragile Canary Islands, environmental managers play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with regulations, protecting unique ecosystems, and promoting sustainable practices across businesses and public administrations. Their responsibilities span from designing environmental management systems to auditing waste and emissions. Training pathways include the Level 3 Professional Certificate in Environmental Management delivered by the Canary Islands Government, Advanced Vocational Training in Education and Environmental Control, and online ISO 14001/EMAS courses. Accredited public and private centres—such as Grupo MVR, ASAJA, Infoscan and Centro Politécnico—equip professionals with the skills needed to tackle climate adaptation, circular economy integration, and citizen engagement challenges.
